Job description
IBM Software Group (SWG) is the world’s second largest software business. It provides the widest range of middleware in the industry – ‘middleware’ being the software on which customers and developers build and connect together the applications that drive their business strategies for key areas such as managing relationships with customers, CRM, or e-commerce.

SWG supports the hundreds of thousands of customers worldwide who rely on IBM mainframes, mid-range processors, personal computers and global networks to conduct e-commerce, collaboration and content hosting. SWG offerings span over five major brands: Info Management, Lotus, Tivoli, WebSphere and Rational. IBM Singapore is now looking for a Sales Representative for the Cognos products.

The candidate is responsible for generating sale of Cognos products and services at quota levels and managing customer relationship in the Public Sector. Other responsibilities include working with business partners, IBM cross brands and IBM coverage team

The sales representative will be expected to :
Sales Achievement: Meet, or exceed Cognos license, new maintenance and services sales targets set by your sales manager.

Territory Management: Identify and qualify prospective strategic accounts and penetrate major significant target prospects; develop business solutions for customer needs; sell the Cognos portfolio of web enabled EBI products.

Meet, or exceed the required customer & prospect contact requirements, which includes visits, demonstrations, partner liaison, and in house prospect demonstrations. Develop and implement a territory marketing plan.

Product Knowledge: Maintain an up-to-date understanding of the Cognos PM solutions, product plans and strategic direction. Be able to communicate this well and able to do introductory demonstrations of products.

Virtual Team Leadership: Interface effectively with all departments within the organization. This includes excellent communication, resource management, team involvement, interaction and cooperation.

Administration: Ensure the required company reporting (such as forecasts, up-to-date pipelines, etc) information transfer, completion of tenders or customer requests, and other requirements are completed in an efficient and timely manner. You are responsible for keeping accurate and up-to-date customer information in the sales management database.

Required

  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • At least 5 years experience in software sales
  • English: Fluent
