    2) I looked after Change Management – Field Instructions from Alerting stage till payment stage for all Contractors in close coordination with EPC Contractor in coordination with the concerned Sharq & EPC Contractor’s discipline personnel and Contracts Manager
    3) I processed all Invoices of EPC and Construction Contractors, Purchase Orders, Vendor Services etc for Payment in close coordination with EPC Contractor, Administration and Finance Departments

    The structural steel detailing of the retrofit work was carried with joint venture of contractors, Tutor
    -Saliba, Koch Skanska & Tide water. The work includes steel towers.

    • New dual eccentrically braced frame at the taller, two leg towers of the existing bridge.
    • New dual, special frames resisting frame at the shorter, two legged towers of the existing bridge.
    • New two eccentrically braced frame in transverse & four in longitudinal direction.
    • New transfer beams or steel collars at the tops of all eccentrically braced & moment resisting frames
    -to transfer the lateral loads from the existing truss shoes, bolted to the top of the existing columns to the new ductile frame. It also includes the connection between the truss bearing shoes & the tops of all the steel towers.
    • Floor beam end connections at each truss vertical.
    • Deck expansion joint & isolation bearings.

    • Rashid Minas Road Flyover Karachi city Pakistan.
    Working as a team member in the design of prestress concrete girders for Karachi development–authority, Pre-stress concrete girders with reinforced concrete deck slab, dual bridge each 2 lane. Railway spans prestress concrete inverted-T composite deck. Substructure reinforced concrete piers and abutments. This flyover is multi overpass on a rail track and 6 lane dual carriageway roads. Total Length of bridge was 1700m.

    • Shah Faisal colony Bridge Karachi city Pakistan.
    This bridge was 244 m long over bridge proposed to be provided over graded separated crossing of shara-e-faisal & railway main track near shara-e-faisal Karachi Pakistan. The overall bridge width was 14.9m wide. My responsibilities included designing superstructure precast, prestress concrete girders with cast in situ reinforced concrete deck slab & the substructure includes bored cast in place piles with R.C piers & transoms.

    • Khairabad, near Islamabad Bridge
    Working as a team member in the design of large bridge over river Indus at khairabad near Islamabad on additional carriageway from chablat -Nowshra, (N-5) is now open for traffic.
    The bridge is 701 m long (including 1.2 m foot path on either side) with 6 spans of 39+40+111+200+200+111m) and its design is based on cantilever box girder supported on central pier.
    The average height of bridge deck from ground floor & high flood level is 34 m & 13 m respectively. The substructure of the bridge consists of bridge consists of pile foundation resting on group of 900 mm concrete cast in place piles, high piers supporting the cantilever, This bridge design by AA Associate, Pakistan consulting firm & Sachal engineering works as Pakistani contractor. The span of cantilever was the biggest in the Asia.

    • Bridge over river Indus between larkana & khairpur Sindh province, Pakistan.
    Working as a team member in the detailed design of bridge over river Indus connecting larkana and khairpur districts, the length of the bridge over Indus was 1222m long. The length from N-5 up to the end of the project at the right bank is about 47 km. The length of the road up to the end of the project at right bank of Indus is 8 km.

    • Ghagar- Pattack Bridge Karachi Pakistan
    My responsibilities included in the structural design & preparation of drawing of underpass prestress I-girder & T-section with composite section over railway crossing Karachi. This bridge was in two parts one-under pass & other section over railway crossing. Under pass portion were 30 meter & 1.8 meter deep placed at 2.4 meter distance post-tension girders with 250 thick cast in place reinforce concrete deck slab. The girder stresses & prestress losses were calculated by company own made program & deck slab was design by PIGEUDES CHARTS. There was another portion under railway was composite post tension inverted I-SHAPE girders with cast in situ concrete fill in between girder. Hence girder also working as a form work also because kept in sequence connected their bottom flange with disturbing the railway communication.

    • Friendship Textile Mill included the Structural analysis, design & preparation of design drawings of 8-story, occupied with heavy chillers at most of the floors area & mezzanine floors of steel structural picked up from reinforced concrete floors. The other main thing with structural point of view was that, it was large span structure about 18 meter span of beams, hence due to heavy load & for controlling deflection, it was decided to cast beams as post tensioning concrete & slab as cast in place reinforced concrete.

    • Structural design & preparation of drawings of Basement + G+10 story bachelor accommodation for GOOD WILL TEXTILE MILL at Karachi Pakistan. For design point of view, it was interested thing that basement of the building was design as underground sweet water tank, which supplying to whole factory & ground floor was design for water treatment plant purpose & all other floors were design for bachelor’s accommodation.

    • Anode Power Generation Plant Korangi Karachi: included the structural analysis, design & preparation of design drawings. The project consists of main large span building with crane/gantry facility at ground floor running along steel girders supported on corbels from main columns of the building. The project occupied with heavy generators, hence its mass foundation was design for self weight and during operation rotating torque get from mechanical supplier on their fixing points with foundation. This was models on STAAD as solid element and was checked stability and natural frequency with allowable given by supplier. This project was also occupied with H.F.O & L.F.O oil storage circular steel tanks, for which we were, designed the supporting foundation wall with strap footing all around wall & provide channel all around wall in case of oil tank overflow & oil go through this channel and safe at sump pit near oil tank.

    • Structural design & preparation of clinker tower with steel silos at each floor for Fuji Foundation Cement Plant. The tower was G+10 supported on four columns frame structure with group pile foundation under the column. The structure was consists of deep beam about 2.5 meter deep and 600 mm thick slab. The structure was opened all around & having about 700 to 800 KN working & shocking point load due to thick stone falls from silos from one floor to other floor with pressure on each fixing point with deep beam & with thick slab. The wind load were considered on structure itself and silos also to transfer through rigid beams & slab as diaphragm on columns & foundation. The building were available in seismic ZONE 2-B.

    Structural design & preparation of drawings of SAPHIRE TEXTILE weaving & spinning mill at Lahore Pakistan. The structure was single story with 25 meter span, provided with 2.5 meter inverted beams and supply air reinforcement concrete ducts over roof slab.

    • Leading role to the design team of DALLAH HOSPITAL TOWER (G+ B4+14) in Riyadh, kingdom of Saudi Arabia. The building consisted of waffle slab & flat slab @ junction of column.

    • Design of AL-OTHAIM SHOPING MALL, (G+B2+2) in Al-Rabwah, Riyadh, kingdom of Saudi Arabia. The building consisted of Pre-cast Hollow core slabs, beams, pre-cast shear wall designed, supply & manufactured by AL-RASHID ABETONG Precast Co. My involvement in this project was to design of foundation on the base of AL-RASHID axial loads & moments, basement 11 meter high counter-fort retaining wall, underground tank & corbel from retaining wall to support hollow core slab at end.

This project awarded to AL-Rajhi as main contractor & main designer is zuhair Faiz & partener & Hamney Parson as a project management -consultant. The total cost of project under the scope is 2.8 BSR.
