Qatalum is the largest Greenfield Aluminium project ever to be executed. The project is a 50/50 Joint Venture between Qatar Petroleum (QP) and Hydro. When the plant comes in operation in late 2009 it will be one of the largest and most competitive primary aluminium plants in the world, with a production capacity of 585,000 MT per year. The smelter, casthouse, carbon and power plant will employ between 1100 – 1200 people. The plant is located at Mesaieed in Qatar, some 40 kilometers from the capital Doha. Procurement Department
Shipping & Expediting Specialists
Manage transportation and movement of Raw Materials, Supplies, Equipments and Spare Parts to and from different locations worldwide. Bachelor Degree in relevant discipline. 10 years experience in Supply Chain Logistics Management. Experience in Quality Management concepts (ISO 9000 Series), MS Office and SAP modules.
Shipping Assistant
Assist in materials clearance activities with government agencies such as Customs, Civil Defense, Chamber of Commerce and Ministry of Environment Protection. HND or equivalent. Minimum 3 years experience in SCM Logistics. Knowledge of international business practices and dealing with local and international vendors. Fluent in English, computer literate, knowledge and experience in SAP.
Senior Buyer
Responsible for procurement activities locally, regionally and internationally. Must have knowledge of supplier market, products and its availability. Knowledge of laws and regulations related to imports to Qatar. Bachelor degree in commerce or engineering discipline. 5 years experience in an industrial establishment.
Buyer
Perform technical discussion and commercial negotiation with vendors and contractors for department level tenders. Bachelor degree in engineering discipline. 8 years experience in procurement environment. Computer literate (MS office) and SAP experience.
Assistant Buyer
Undertake purchasing activities, locally, regionally and internationally. Must be capable of creative thinking to handle the daily challenges of purchasing. High School Certificate to, university degree preferable. 6 years experience in SCM in industrial environment. Fluent in English, Computer literate (MS office) and SAP experience.
Head of Warehouse Operations
Develop and control all activities at the main warehouse. Bachelor degree in mechanical engineering or equivalent. MBA an advantage. 10 years experience in SCM, control and distribution of materials and warehouse management. Good knowledge of MS Office and SAP.
Warehouse Supervisor
Manage and control materials movement at main warehouse. Includes receipt, checking, and efficient storage of purchased materials. Timely service to internal user departments. Bachelor degree in Science or engineering discipline. 8 to 10 years experience. MS Office, MS Project and SAP.
Storeman
Provide administrative service in Warehouse. HND or equivalent. 5 year s experience in material management environment. Knowledge of MS Office and SAP. Fluent in English Language.
