UNICEF Indonesia is seeking highly qualified Indonesian national candidates to fill the following position:

Health Specialist – Jakarta

Under the overall guidance of the Chief of Health & Nutrition Section and the direct supervision of the Health Specialist EPI, responsible for the planning, implementation, monitoring and evaluation of the Maternal and Neonatal Tetanus programme in Indonesia. Provide technical support to the government of Indonesia to assist in formulating policies and strategies to eliminate maternal and neonatal tetanus by 2010. He/she will support the capacity building of health providers, this will entail the design and implementation of cross cutting programmes to improve the capacity of government to plan, budget, implement and monitor activities, addresses the identified gaps, and inequities in elimination maternal and neonatal tetanus through immunization. MD and/or MPH or Advanced University degree in Social sciences. At least five (5) years progressive experience in related fields with minimum 2 years at national level. Fluency in English and Bahasa Indonesia is required. Knowledge of another UN working language is an asset. Knowledge of the latest developments and technology in MNTE. Demonstrates foundational and functional competencies for the post. Ability to work in a multi-cultural environment and establish harmonious and effective working relationships, both within and outside the organization.
