The International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) is a neutral and independent international humanitarian organization

Our Regional Delegation in Jakarta is looking for suitable candidates to fill the following (2) vacancies:

1. Communication, ASEAN & Public Affairs Officer (CApao)

Main tasks:

  • Research on humanitarian issues of interest for the ICRC and provide analysts on the humanitarian environment in Asia and in Indonesia
  • Establish a comprehensive network among the Authorities, as well as with the national Parliament, political parties and some specific actors of the Civil Society
  • Develop and maintain contacts within multilateral organisations relevant to the ICRC to promote the ICRC policies and campaigns
  • Respond to relevant Government, non government and third party consultations
  • Assist in the organization of ICRC programs and events, promoting the objectives of the Delegation

2. Media & Public Communication Officer I (Mepuco)

Main tasks:

  • Develop and maintain a comprehensive media and journalist network, elaborate press releases and briefing notes, organize and manage press conferences Establish a comprehensive network and initiate a working dialogue with Academic (non-legal) institutions
  • Establish and manage a new ICRC Documentation Centre on Humanitarian Studies
  • Participate and advise in the conception and elaboration of Communication support material

For both positions

Requirements:

  • Degree in International Relations, Political Sciences, Law or Communication
  • Previous experience or knowledge in international relations, human security, HR, Islamic Law and IHL (only for CApao)
  • Good relational skills to establish contacts, lobby and network at governmental, multilateral and non-governmental level
  • Confirmed communication, presentation and organisational skills, and ability to work efficiently and effectively under tension and within short notice
  • Flexibility and ability in working in teamwork
  • Demonstrated autonomy, motivation and commitment, delivering within deadlines
  • Computer literate, fluent in oral/written English and Bahasa Indonesia, French an asset
  • Ability and willingness to travel to different regions of Indonesia and abroad
